Morse Coffin Homestead Restoration at Sandstone Ranch Community Park
City of Longmont
$210,000; Restoration of the Morse Coffin Homestead involved the limited restoration of the historic 1880s Coffin House, and complete restoration of the barn, spring house and ice house, part of the multi-phased development of the $7,690,000 Sandstone Ranch Community Park.
Restoration of the barn and ice house included stabilization of the structures and stucco repair of the walls of the earth-sheltered ice house. The homestead is listed on the State and National Registers of Historic Places, as well as being designated as a Local Landmark.
alm2s provided full architectural services. The restoration design was awarded the Stephen H. Hart Award by the Colorado Historical Society.
