A Tradition of
alm2s was founded in 1986 based upon a philosophy of creative design, technical excellence and outstanding client service. The firm is led by principals Brad Massey, Ian Shuff and Shaun Moscrip, who work collaboratively to produce exceptional architecture.
alm2s is an award-winning firm that consistently produces designs that embody the highest standards of creativity and innovation, while remaining responsive to function and cost-effectiveness. Environmental sustainability is an important aspect of our practice, with many projects designed using LEED Green Building design principles, and certified at Platinum, Gold and Silver levels.
We believe that architecture is as much a service as an art. Professionalism and integrity form the basis of our philosophy toward clients of both public and private sectors. Recognizing that each project is unique, alm2s works closely with our clients to tailor our services to their needs, expectations and vision.
Chris Freeland has extensive experience in the design of municipal projects. He holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Kansas State University, is a licensed architect in Colorado and is a LEED Accredited Professional. Chris' passion for green building has guided the firm's focus on sustainability in its projects. His completed projects have earned two LEED Platinum, one LEED Gold and one LEED Silver certification.
Natalie Hain joined the alm2s team in 2022. Natalie holds a Bachelor of Science from Kansas Sate University’s Interior Design program. She has an effective understanding of 3D modeling and drafting software, an aptitude for design and problem-solving, and is excited to learn more about construction, building efficiency, and sustainability.
Chad Koscinski has 17 years of experience in architecture. He joined alm2s in 2008 became a registered architect in 2013. Chad has experience primarily in student housing and university projects. He is highly skilled in Revit 3D modeling, drafting and project management technologies, and has coordinated BIM applications with contractors on many of his projects. Chad holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
Sara Maas joined alm2s in 2009. Sara has strong organizational skills and a fierce attention to detail. Her sharp focus keeps the firm running smoothly.
Brad Massey has been with alm2s since 1994 and became a full partner in 2001. Through Brad’s vast experience he has become a respected leader in the design of creative student life and on-campus projects. Brad holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Kansas State University and a Green Building Certificate from CSU, and is a licensed architect in Colorado, Wyoming and Kansas.
Shaun has 26 years of experience, becoming an Associate Principal with alm2s in 2008, and Principal in 2014. Shaun was instrumental in helping the firm achieve design awards for projects such as the Westlands Park Treehouse, Sandstone Ranch and Sonny Lubick Field at Hughes Stadium, as well as the Colorado Firm of the Year and Western Mountain Region Firm of the Year. Shaun has two degrees in Architecture from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and is a licensed architect in Colorado and Wyoming.
Kyle Schwall joined alm2s in 2021. A graduate from the University of Colorado at Boulder’s Environmental Design program, Kyle is an associate member of AIA and has experience with interior design, residential design and commercial projects. He is proficient in Revit and Adobe Creative Suite, with competent skills in organization and time management. Kyle brings an enthusiastic passion in design and an eagerness to expand his horizons in the architecture field.
Ian is a registered architect, becoming an Associate Principal with alm2s in 2008, and Principal in 2014. Ian has attained vast experience in the design of creative commercial, retail, industrial, multifamily/mixed use and student housing, with over 800 units delivered: five of his projects have received regional design awards. His professional involvement includes the City of Fort Collins Land Use Review Commission, AIA North Infill Taskforce Committee and the Urban Land Institute Northern Colorado Committee.
Laura has provided administrative support to the firm for over 20 years. She keeps the office running including working the front office, coordination of specifications and providing marketing support, as well as the resident spelling guru.
Josh Wilcox joined alm2s in 2016 and has acquired experience in commercial and residential design. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture Design from the University of New Mexico. Josh has a great sense of design and is proficient in Revit, with a strong attention to detail and effective time management skills.
Sarah is a Master of Architecture graduate with a love for design and creative problem-solving. She is organized and detail-oriented with experience ranging from drafting, fieldwork and hands-on construction.
