The Exchange is a new urban infill redevelopment project consisting of the renovation of existing buildings on the north and south end of a city block in downtown Fort Collins.  The project converted and enclosed an existing parking lot to create a unique urban plaza with central lawn surrounded by retail and restaurant shipping container buildings and an iconic free-standing ice cream shop building designed as a scaled up old fashioned ice cream churn bucket.  The renovated existing buildings on either side of the plaza were carefully designed to include patios for the adjacent tenants to further engage and activate the space.
